On March 25, the art gallery of the Library changed its exhibition.
The exhibition “Memorable Summer of 1944: on the 80th anniversary of the Belarusian offensive operation “Bagration”” presents copies of works by Belarusian and Soviet painters, revealing the greatness of the people’s feat. During the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders, the largest strategic operation of the Great Patriotic War, Operation Bagration, was carried out. During it, the Red Army not only liberated Belarus from occupation, but also, having significantly undermined the enemy’s forces, brought the collapse of fascism and our Victory closer.
This became possible thanks to the courage, heroism, determination and self-sacrifice of hundreds of thousands of soldiers, underground fighters and partisans of Belarus, many of whom died on Belarusian soil. These heroic events remain a sacred trace in our memory, on the canvases of Belarusian and Soviet artists.
We invite you to watch!
