THE OPEN MIC “POETRY HOUR” TOOK PLACE ON MARCH 21

On March 21, the VSMU library hosted an open microphone event, "Poetry Hour", dedicated to World Poetry Day.

About 30 participants of the open microphone read poems by their favorite authors of world poetry, and many participants read their own poems.

The event was opened by the head of the Department of General and Orthopedic Dentistry, Eduard Levonovich Machkalyan. He performed an acrostic of his own composition, "Mysterious Ode", and a poem, "Recipe".

The students of the Faculty of Preparation of Foreign Citizens took an active part in the poetry evening. They performed poems in Tamil, Senegalese, English, and Russian.

The members of the Likhtar Club of Artistic Word Lovers also took an active part in the event.

The VSMU instrumental group performed the songs “Dze moi krai” to the words of V. Karatkevich and “Zhi menya” by K. Simonov.

A book corner was set up, which was a poet’s desk with attributes and accessories for creative writing. It also featured an exhibition of poetry collections for free access by participants “And again the soul is full of poetry”.

At the end of the open microphone “Poetry Hour”, Ivan Beresnev, a first-year student of the Faculty of Medicine, performed a song to the words of L. Derbenev and music by M. Dunaevsky “Vse proyedayut”.

We hope that the past evening inspired all participants and guests of the event to creativity and new achievements!
